Ms. G’s
Sunday 24 June
Dinner catch up. After the Opera Bar Liza took us to this joint out at Potts Point. It was a cold Sunday afternoon. Audrey took shotgun, Wilfred, Emma and I were at back seat talking stupid and having a good laugh trying to ignore the cold. We got off at this rather quiet street and saw a signboard out on the right side of the road that said “Ms G’s”. Again, it was another MERIVALE experience, so I was expecting another rustic and homey feel to this restaurant quite similar to Palings. . . And I was right. We entered Mrs G’s and it was the exact same feeling I had while lunching at Palings the other day. Although the lighting at this place was a bit darker, the quaint rustic ambience amazed me. Wooden furniture with old iron details to arty utensils, antique silver and cutlery. The food was amazing and we didn’t have to wait long for our order. The Burger Rolls, Pork Ribs, Chicken and Fried Rice hit all the spots and ticked all the boxes for me. And even though, for the most part, I had to eat with my hands, this to me was ‘fine dining’ and something so different from my usual takeouts from Jojis and Yangs back home. It was all so ‘boujee’ for a RRA Barrack girl like me. LOL. Emma got us a bottle of Chandon and we toasted to life and laughed our hearts out. Positive vibes everywhere. Not every time you get to have dinner with your cousins, your bestie and your sister-girl at a great restaurant with delicious food in the heart of Sydney. But when you do, it makes the experience much more sweeter and the food more tastier. Cheers to my Merivale experience. Thank you to Liza, Audrey, Emma and Wilfred for such a fun night. Big hugs xx
